The course was another well presented training, very informative and perfect combination with the eating disorder and obesity treatments. Thankyou. I look forward to passing on my new skills to current and future clients, but also implementing them in my own daily living.
Nutritional Interventions for Eating Disorders & Obesity
Our 3-Day course teaches health professionals who encounter eating disorders and obesity in the course of their work to offer basic nutritional strategies as part of the management of these conditions.
Helping your clients with Obesity is not about calories in vs calories out, dieting or weight loss. In fact, we know those approaches don't work and can lead to shame, feelings of failure and weight gain. Rejecting diet culture, education about nutrition, eating and health, and addressing the biochemical imbalances and emotional issues is the key to furthering your clients' mental and physical health.
While treating the behaviour and emotions of Eating Disorders & Obesity is critical, we also need to delve into the what, when and how they are eating to assess the biochemical and neurotransmitter imbalances potentially hindering their recovery. Learning how to investigate and support your client with biochemical imbalance doesn't need a chemistry class, but an understanding of what these factors are, how they occur and how to apply them in each case.
The course is suitable for counsellors, psychologists, psychotherapists, addiction specialists, doctors, psychiatrists, nurses and social workers at all levels of experience and qualification. (Note: If you are an Accredited Practicing Dietitian our Eating Disorders or Obesity courses are more suitable for you.)
You will learn about

I learnt a lot of new things I was not even aware of. It has certainly empowered me to make better choices and share them with clients. Not only those with Eating Disorders but all. Thankyou.
The course is interesting, thought provoking, informative and lots of excellent material. The presenter was enthusiastic, passionate and a wonderful presenter!
This course was very useful in broadening my understanding for myself and my clients. It will compliment the work that I do with clients and help them set goals in relation to their overall health and nutrition. I thought I had a good understanding of nutrition, however after completing this course I feel even more equipped and confident to provide psycho education and to discuss health outcomes with other health professionals such as GPs and dietitians. This is excellent for recovery and prevention relapse.
Excellent course presented in a user friendly format with and engaging presenter.
